South Bend Cubs clinch 2022 Midwest League 2nd Half Western Division Championship

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Despite the 10-8 loss to the Lansing Lugnuts on Saturday, the South Bend Cubs have clinched the 2022 Midwest League 2^nd Half Western Division Championship.

The Cubs either needed to beat Lansing on Saturday, or have Quad Cities beat the Beloit Sky Carp. 

The River Bandits beat the Sky Carp 5-1 to secure the playoff spot. 

2022 marks the second time in three seasons that the Cubs have made the playoffs.

Game one of their playoff series will be against the Cedar Rapid Kernels on September 13.

First pitch will be at 7:05 p.m. at Four Winds Field.

South Bend currently sits at 71-54 overall on the season.
