South Bend business back open after morning fire

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- It is business as usual again at a South Bend company after a fire Thursday morning.

Crews were called to Lock Joint Tube on Walnut just before noon.

Constructions workers were tearing down part of the building when something caught fire behind the metal siding.

Things got a little tricky when crews had to tear some of that sheeting apart to make sure flames did not spread.

"There's a small area. We are just trying to peel back some of the sheeting to make sure it didn't extend anywhere," Battalion Chief Nick Tekler said. "I guess there is a pretty extensive lathe right below it so we are careful on how we are putting the watter on it."

No one was hurt in the fire.
