South Bend announces partnership with Indiana Energy Saver Program
ABC 57 SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend announced a partnership with the Indiana Energy Saver Program, a federally funded program administered by the Indiana Office of Energy Development.
City officials say the program's goal is to help Hoosiers lower utility bills while improving comfort and energy efficiency.
The city plans to add local funds to expand the program's reach to help more South Bend residents afford energy-saving improvements and benefit from lower utility bills.
“We are excited to launch this partnership with the Indiana Energy Saver Program,” said Director of Sustainability, Alex Bazán. “Through this collaboration, we will be able to provide greater access and deeper impacts to households in need. Community members have a great opportunity to alleviate the rise in cost of living, reduce pollution, and improve comfort and health in the home.”
City officials say improvements may include home insulation, air sealing, upgraded heating and cooling systems, water heaters, and other energy-efficient upgrades installed by qualified local contractors.
