SJCPD holds weekend interviews for potential candidates
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Police Department held its first annual weekend interviews on Jan. 31 in an effort to meet recruitment demands and meet potential candidates.
Individuals, ages 18 and older, who were interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement were interviewed at the event.
Kylie Williams, a recruiter for SJCPD, stated, "When everyone comes in, we will go over our basic interview process with them. For our board interviews, we ask standard interview questions such as, what are your strengths or your weaknesses? We give them scenario based questions to see how they respond as a person, using the ethics, their morals, and then their personal history questionnaire packet we use for the background, we cover everything from their residents, wherever they live, their entire life, where they worked, so their employment, they have list references, and then we ask a series of other questions that's going to help us determine if they're a good candidate for us or not."
The SJCPD does intend to schedule more events like this in the future.
