Sixty-vehicle pileup closes section of I-94 Monday evening
ABC 57 VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office reports 911 calls began coming in around 5:45 p.m., Monday, regarding multiple crashes on westbound I-94 near mile-marker 56.
Deputies arrived on scene to find an incident involving around 60 vehicles, including several jack-knifed semi-trucks.
Westbound I-94 was subsequently shut down for about three hours for cleanup.
Around the same time, the report states more crashes were reported near mile-marker 52 on eastbound I-94. This incident closed the eastbound lanes as well.
Deputies on scene also dealt with a 20-vehicle crash near mile-marker 55 on westbound I-94. In addition to that, an additional four-vehicle crash occurred in the same area.

The highway was fully reopened around 9 p.m.
