Shooting leaves one man injured in Michigan City

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- One man was found shot in the 2300 block of Normandy Drive Wednesday before being taken to the hospital, says the Michigan City Police Department.

The department received a 911 call at 11:27 a.m. Wednesday of a person found injured in the 2300 block of Normandy Drive. When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the right arm.

The man's injuries were non-life-threatening, and he was transported to Franciscan Health Hospital in Michigan City.

An investigation revealed the shooting happened in an apartment in the 2300 block of Normandy Drive. Detectives say this was not a random shooting and there is no known threat to the community at this time.

The department will not be releasing any further information to safeguard the investigation.
