MSP arrest South Bend man on felony firearm charges following traffic stop

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- A 27-year-old South Bend man is in jail on several felonies after a traffic stop Thursday.

Michigan State Police Fifth District made a traffic stop in Benton Harbor after a vehicle made several traffic violations.

Police say during the stop, trooper witnessed a 9mm magazine in the front packet of the passenger's pants. The passenger was identified as a convicted felon.

MSP subsequently searched the vehicle, resulting in the seizure of a loaded 7.62mm Draco pistol and a loaded Glock 43 9mm pistol.

The passenger was arrested and charged with Felony Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
