Accumulating snow, wind chills below zero common this week
UPDATE: The St. Joseph County Police Department reports the semi-truck was driving south on the bypass when a gust of wind hit it.
Police say this caused it to jackknife as it hit the guard rail.
Authorities say traffic slowed after being directed to one lane for a few hours.
ORIGINAL STORY: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- St. Joseph County Dispatch confirmed to ABC57 News that a call came in around 1:14 p.m., Monday, for a semi-truck crash on the US 20 Bypass near exit 73A at Western Avenue.
The Saint Joseph County Fire Territory responded to the scene.
Fire officials stated drivers should slow it down, increase following distance, and give yourself extra time on the road.
Dispatch states there were no injuries, and the scene should be clear as of 3:55 p.m.
