Search warrant leads to one arrested on charges of Child Sexually Abusive Activity

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office reports deputies, with assistance from the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, conducted a search warrant in the 37000 block of C.R. 665 in Waverly Township on July 9 around 7 a.m., which led to one arrest.
Authorities say the search warrant resulted from an investigation into a tip given to the sheriff's office.
The report states 35-year-old Travis Lane was suspected of being in possession of child sexually abusive material.
Lane was found in the residence during the execution of the search warrant along with several electronic devices, which were seized as part of the investigation.
Lane was subsequently arrested and on July 11 was charged with two counts of Child Sexually Abusive Activity- Aggravated Possession, Two Counts of Child Sexually Abusive Activity- Aggravated, Two Counts of Computers- Using to Commit a Crime- Maximum Imprisonment 20+ Years, and Two Counts of Computers- Using to Commit a Crime- Prison 10-20 Years.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and the sheriff's office is working with the MSP Internet Crimes against Children Taskforce.
