PORTER COUNTY, Ind. -- The search for 23-year-old Jacob Sandy has moved to Porter County, Indiana. His vehicle was found Tuesday in the parking lot for Porter Beach by an Indiana Dunes National Park ranger.
Officials reviewed video footage from Saturday which showed him in the area of Porter Beach around 2:40 p.m.
A witness said they saw him kayaking before a strong storm hit.
Indiana Conservation Officers began a search of Lake Michigan on Wednesday morning both on the surface and underwater.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit assisted with the surface search by helicopter.
Members of the Porter Fire Department have been conducting periodic searches of the shoreline.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Indiana Conservation Officers Central Dispatch Center at 812-837-9536.
