School City of Mishawaka to host 'One Day in the Sun: Take a Mental Health Day'

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- School City of Mishawaka announced the "One Day in the Sun: Take a Mental Health Day" event will return to Central Park in Mishawaka on Saturday, May 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The community-centered event is meant to promote mental health awareness and healthy living from the classroom to the home.
Organizers say there will be plenty of fun, family-friendly activities designed to support mental wellness and strengthen community connections.
“One Day in the Sun is about encouraging our community to prioritize mental health in a positive, engaging way. It’s a day to come together, enjoy interactive activities, and access helpful resources that benefit the whole family," said Jenny Sanders, event organizer and SCM Coordinator of Employee Benefits and Wellness.
There will be a free picnic lunch by Chicory Café on a first come, first served basis, and free Kona Ice and Bonnie Doon Ice Cream with completed activity bingo card.
Local mental wellness information and resources will also be available.
