SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Ten Michiana high school seniors were named recipients of $1,000 scholarships at Tuesday’s South Bend Cubs game.
Zolman’s Tire selected ten students, with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, from a pool of over 200 applications as the winners of the Zolman’s Student Citizenship Award.
Nate Zolman, owner of Zolman’s Tire, commended the awarded students for their determination and perseverance to uphold good grades while the COVID-19 pandemic brought on a unique set of challenges.
“For them to persevere, still be good students, still be amazing human beings, and still give back and be able to articulate that America is in really good shape if this is a sample population of the future,” said Zolman.
With an increase of the number of applications for the scholarship, Zolman’s Tire increased the annual number of awards from six to ten.
