ORIGINAL STORY: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department announced its Kid’s Patch Coloring Contest has returned this summer.
Kids 18 and under are encouraged to grab crayons, markers, and colored pencils and have fun designing an official South Bend police shoulder patch.
You can download the free patch coloring page online and print it out to work on.
Completed art can be placed in the submission box in SBPD’s front lobby or scanned and emailed to SBPD Director of Communications, Ashley O’Chap, at [email protected].
All artwork must be submitted by Thursday, July 24 at 11:59 p.m.
On July 28, all submissions will be uploaded to the SBPD Facebook page, where followers will be asked to “like” their favorite patch design. One like equals one vote.

The winning patch design will be created into a limited-run embroidered patch, which can be purchased by the public to support our outreach efforts.
Their winning patch design will also be displayed at SBPD's National Night Out Event on Aug. 5.
The winning design will be featured as the profile picture on SBPD’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages for a week.
