SBPD announces winner of 2025 Patch Coloring Contest

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department announced the winner of their 2025 Patch Coloring Contest is 6-year-old Daniel Alarcon-Stigner.
Alarcon-Stigner's design, which features a police car and an officer playing basketball with a kid, received a total of 1,883 "like" and "love" reactions as of noon Friday.
Organizers say only 36 votes separated the top two designs.
Alarcon-Stigner's winning patch design will now be turned into a limited-run embroidered patch, which can be purchased by the public to support SBPD's outreach efforts.
The design will also be displayed at SBPD's National Night Out Event on Aug. 5.
The winning design will be featured as the profile picture on SBPD’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages for a week.
