SBARC looking for two people who illegally abandoned box of small animals

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Animal Rescue Center (SBARC) shared a video this week from their security system that shows two people illegally abandoning a box of small animals by a trash can.

"[Sunday] night around 10:35 p.m. two individuals attempted to get into our police drop boxes illegally," SBARC officials said. "When they found they were locked -- because they are ONLY accessible to SBPD and our staff -- they then dumped two bunnies and a guinea pig in boxes on the side of the shelter by the trash cans."

SBARC asks that if you know these individuals and recognize the animals, to contact us immediately at 

"While we are here to help the animals and residents of the city with their animals, we are still a business and cannot be here 24/7," SBARC officials said. "Abandoning and dumping animals, for any reason is never okay."
