SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department officers have encountered a high number of children in need of coats and sweatshirts this year. 

If you are out doing some last-minute shopping this week, please consider dropping off any new or gently used children's coats to the South Bend Police Department. 

Officers will keep the coats in their vehicles and share them with children who may not be dressed for the weather.

You can drop off your donation in the main lobby at 701 West Sample Street during regular business hours, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
