Same area in Elkhart hit by gunfire twice in one day
ELKHART, Ind. – The Elkhart Police Department received two reports of gunfire in the same area early Thursday morning, according to police.
At 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, an officer arrived to the 300 block of Indiana Avenue in reference to a shooting report.
The officer observed a vehicle with damage to the rear passenger side and rear driver’s side windows.
A second vehicle also had observable damage to the front passenger side and front driver’s side windows.
Neighbors said they heard several gunshots, reports said.
There were no injuries as a result of the gunfire.
At 1:32 a.m. that same morning, an officer arrived to the 300 block of Indiana Avenue in reference to a shooting report.
The officer found what appeared to be a hole in the siding on the outside of the building.
The officer also saw what appeared to be an exit hole inside the building from where a slug entered the house.
No one was injured.
No arrests have been made in either incident.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
