SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Rotary Club of South Bend hosted the 'Paint your pinkies purple to end polio' Wednesday at the Century Center.
The event raises awareness and funds for the Rotary's efforts to eradicate polio.
Attendees could get their pinkies painted purple for a suggested donation of $2 or $5 to avoid the purple polish.
Those who wanted Notre Dame women's basketball Coach Muffet McGraw to paint their pinkies had to donate $25.
"They do so much good work in our community and this one is especially important. It's all about painting your pinkie purple for polio. I didn't do such a good job. I don't think I'll quit my day job, but it's all about eradicating this disease around the globe. This is just such a great group to do so many good things," Coach McGraw said.
Attendees could also get their picture taken with Coach McGraw and the National Championship trophy.
