Road closures and construction starting in Berrien County
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Road Department announced work will begin on two roadways the week of July 8, which will lead to traffic restrictions and closures.
Lincoln Avenue between Vineland Road and Maiden Lane will be closed to thru traffic for about three weeks for water utility work.
A total road closure will be in effect south of the Eaton Park entrance.
All thru traffic must follow the detour or seek alternative routes.
Motorists accessing Eaton Park must travel from the Vineland Road side of the work zone.
Properties south of Eaton Park must enter Lincoln Avenue from the Maiden Lane side of the work zone.
The detour route will be Vineland Road to Washington Avenue to Maiden Lane.
Harbert Road between Three Oaks Road and Flynn Road will be closed to thru traffic starting Tuesday, July 9, for road improvements including drainage replacement, roadway widening, including five-foot paved shoulders, roadway resurfacing, and guardrail.
Local traffic will be allowed but subject to hard road closure when and where specific culverts are being replaced.
Work is expected to be completed by November.
The detour route will be Three Oaks Road to Sawyer Road to Flynn Road.
