Rising heat and humidity likely result in torrential downpours falling tonight
Unsurprisingly, another hot and humid day awaits us as the ridge responsible for the heat exits eastward. Temperatures peak in the mid 90s with dewpoints in the mid 70s later this afternoon, totaling to heat index values between 100F to 105F and possibly exceeding the latter value in some spots. This evening, a cold front begins to drape itself across our area slowly, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms that are expected to begin around 6-7 PM EDT. There's a minimal severe threat overall but heavy rain and gusty winds are likely with a minor flooding concern due to the expected slow-moving nature of the rain. The main line of wet weather exits early tomorrow morning with residual scattered thunderstorms flaring up Friday and Saturday, allowing pockets of Michiana to cool down into the mid 80s. Sunday is back near 90F with partly cloudy skies.
Today: Partly cloudy. High 96.
Tonight: Scattered thunderstorms. Low 72.
Friday: Scattered thunderstorms. High 85.
Saturday: Scattered thunderstorms. High 86.
