BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- On Wednesday, the US Department of Transportation awarded the City of Benton Harbor the $22 million Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development Grant.

Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI) welcomed the award supporting the City's Riverfront Redevelopment – Improving Mobility and Addressing High Water Project.

"Benton Harbor's riverfront is one of the community's greatest assets, but for years, recurring flooding has limited its full potential," said Congressman Huizenga in part, "This investment will improve transportation, strengthen critical infrastructure, protect access to businesses and essential public services, and create new opportunities for economic growth along the waterfront."
