ROCHESTER, Ind. -- Rain moved in on the Fulton County 4H Fair Wednesday, leaving bounce houses deflated, but otherwise, crowds still showed up for the annual tradition.
"Despite the rain, even today, we've got a fair amount of people here," said Gus Lukens, the treasurer of the Pork Producers stand.
For people like Lukens, the fair is a long-standing family tradition.
"It's one of those things, you grow up around it, your friends are here. It's something you look forward to every year. My parents were always involved, it's a good way to be involved in the community and that sort of thing."
For people like the 2024 Fulton County Fair Queen, Chesnee Miller, it's a family legacy.
"So, 25 years ago my mom was a queen, and my little sister is the teen miss Fulton County Queen," Miller said.
"It's a part of me, and a lot of other families too in the farming community," Lukens said.
The tight-knit community still came out in full force.
"Everyone knows everybody, and I mean it's just a really fun community to be a part of," Miller said.
The fair goes through Saturday.
