ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, In. –– Universities around the country have been hit hard financially, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The loss of revenue raises questions regarding the future of some sports programs.
Notre Dame Director of Athletics Jack Swarbrick said he believes every aspect of the budget will need to be looked at coming out of the pandemic.
“I don't know whether Notre Dame will have to consider cutting programs, and I don’t anticipate that happening during the course of [the pandemic], as we try and figure our way through it right now. As I said earlier, I think we will come out of this having to look at every element of our budget, both the revenue side and the expense side," Swarbrick said.
