Public invited to share input at Portage Manor open house Oct. 22

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- St. Joseph County Commissioner Derek Dieter and Steve Sass of Indiana Nature, LLC invite the public to an open house at Portage Manor on Tuesday, Oct. 22 to share input and suggestions on what to do with the acreage at the property.

Sass conducted an ecological assessment on the property where he says over 50 species of birds and other endangered wildlife along with hundreds of types of plants, bushes, and trees were identified.

On Oct. 22, a hike will occur from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., before the full presentation from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
