Propane tank leak cause of deadly home explosion

LOWELL, Ind. — Investigators say a propane tank leak caused a deadly house explosion in northwest Indiana.

The blast happened just after 7 p.m. Monday in Lowell.

When firefighters arrived on the scene they found one home leveled and a nearby house was engulfed in flames.

Debris was found scattered all over for about 100 yards.

Lake County officials say a 43-year-old neighbor who was watching the home died.
