Power outages affecting thousands across Michiana
Indiana Michigan Power says over 16,000 customers lost power due to the strong thunderstorms that came through the area early Thursday morning.
As of 4 p.m. power has been restored to more than 14,000 customers.
Crews are out in force working to restore power to about 2,000 remaining customers by 11 p.m. Thursday night.
Power outages as of 4 p.m.:
- Fort Wayne area: 850
- South Bend/Elkhart area: 850
- Marion area: 350
In southwest Michigan, approximately 2,600 customers were without power due to a single outage.

According to Duke Energy's outage map, Fulton County experienced outages on Thursday morning affecting over 3,000 customers. Estimated time of restoration for outages in Fulton County is between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
There is not a current estimated time of restoration for other affected areas.
