SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Officials with the Potawatomi Zoo announced it will open its doors Saturdays and Sundays for Winter Days starting on Jan. 11.

Winter Days will run through March 9, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We know people love to get out of the house in the winter, and there’s plenty to do at the Zoo,” says Josh Sisk, Executive Director of the Potawatomi Zoo. “Plus, it’s fun for visitors to see how the Zoo animals behave at different times of the year. A lot of them really love the cooler temps!”

The Zoo will be closed on March 1 for a private event.

Winter Days are free for Zoo members, with discounted admission for non-members.

Adults are $12 per person while kids are $10 per person.

Officials say while concessions in The Lodge are closed, visitors can go inside to warm up and watch the bears.

Drinks and snacks can be purchased at the Farmhouse Café near the flamingo pond.
