SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Portage Township, in partnership with REAL Services, is opening the only permanent Senior Community Center in South Bend.

The center aims to address aging concerns and social isolation by providing resources that promote healthy aging, emotional well-being and community engagement. It will offer activities, workshops and support services designed to enhance the quality of life for older adults.

Located at 133 N. William St., in the former offices of Portage Township, the center will host an open house on Tuesday, March 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for April 1.
