Police release surveillance photos of Family Dollar robbery

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police have released surveillance photos from a robbery at the Family Dollar on W. Hively Avenue.

The robbery happened on June 12 at 9:56 p.m.

The suspect entered the business with a handgun and demanded money, according to police.

The employee struggled with the suspect and the suspect fled without getting any cash.

Police said the employee complained of pain as a result of the struggle with the suspect.

The suspect was described as a black male, 17 to 25 years old, 6”0” tall weighting 185 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
