Police investigating fatal Kalamazoo crash

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- A fatal crash occurred Thursday afternoon in the 8700 Block of West B Avenue in Alamo Township.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office determined that the victim's vehicle was traveling westbound on West B Avenue when it struck another vehicle turning left out of a private driveway.

Then, the westbound vehicle drove off the road to the left, hitting an embankment which caused the vehicle to go airborne and strike a tree.

The driver of the westbound vehicle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment at the scene.

Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash, but speed could have been.

The crash is still under investigation.
