SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The victims of the deadly shooting have since been identified as 20-year-old Amarion Kirk and 22-year-old Jasani Taylor, and a shooter is still on the loose.
The families of the victims have been notified.
South Bend Police told ABC57 they’re still trying to identify a suspect hours after the scene at the Quality Inn off Lincolnway West cleared.
The shooting happened around 2 p.m. in the parking lot, beside the Quality Inn and Suites.
Police say two males were found dead outside a car.
South Bend Police say witnesses saw a suspect running away after shots were fired, but investigators haven't figured out if there was only one shooter.
Police actively searched through the area for about five hours in the afternoon, also dealing with a large crowd of people gathered near the scene, some climbing over the crime scene tape to try to get answers.
Police urge anyone with information on the shooting to either contact the South Bend Police Department or Michiana Crimestoppers at 574-288-STOP.
