4th annual Family Fun Event returns to Riverfront Park
UPDATE (8:27p.m.): On May 27, the Saint Joseph County Prosecutor's Office filed charges against 35-year-old Carla Merriweather in connection with the police chase that occurred late Memorial Day night.
Merriweather was charged with:
- Auto Theft
- Resisting Law Enforcement (using a vehicle)
- Auto Theft (with prior)
- Resisting Law Enforcement (with Prior)
Merriweather remains in Saint Joseph County Jail.
A court date has not been released.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department responded to a call of a vehicle pursuit at around 9:30 p.m. that started in the 2700 block of Westmoor Street in South Bend.
Police were attempting to stop a stolen vehicle, with the police chase ending in the area of Woodlawn Boulevard and Portage Avenue.
The suspect has been arrested and was taken to the Saint Joseph County Jail.
