Plymouth BMV branch closed in October

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles announced on Friday that the BMV will temporarily close eight branches in October due to a continued staffing shortage.

These branches, including the Plymouth branch, will be closed from Monday, October 4 through Saturday, October 30.

Other locations that will be closed during October include branches in West Lafayette, Indianapolis – North Meridian and Midtown, Tipton, Brazil, Danville, and New Albany.

The Sullivan branch will adjust its hours to operate only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Employees of these temporarily closed branches will be reassigned to support nearby locations for the month.

This is the second month the BMV has temporarily closed branches because of an employee shortage.

Branch teams are in the process of hiring multiple applicants to fill open positions across the state.

“We received an influx of applications after the September closures. Our team has partnered with the State Personnel Department and together we are working diligently to fill open positions as quickly as possible. This has enabled us to reduce the number of branches temporarily closed this month. We ask for patience from Hoosier communities and applicants as we work through that process,” said Indiana BMV Commissioner Peter Lacy.
