Heavy storms rolled through parts of Western Michigan causing damage and some impressive views.
During the storms Tuesday night lightning lit up the sky over Lake Michigan. A large bolt was captured from a ship carrying Iron Ore from Minnesota to Indiana Harbor, IN.
Tuesday morning Michigan Native Photography caught a spectacular view at the North Pier lighthouse in St. Joseph.
Then Wednesday morning, professional photographer Joshua Nowicki captured a shelf cloud with lightning strikes in St. Joseph.
Meteorologists describe most of these lightning strikes as regular "cloud to ground" lightning from the strong storms, but because those were moving from Wisconsin to Michiana across the lake everyone got a very good view of the sky show.
