Penn High School's Spell Bowl team earns a perfect score
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- In the 27-year history of the Hoosier Spell Bowl, there have only been about 39 perfect scores turned in by high school teams.
After Tuesday night's perfect 90 at Lakeland, Penn High School now has 27 of those estimated 39 perfect outings.
The Kingsmen topped a four-team field in LaGrange for their third invitational win of the season.

Perfect varsity spellers for Penn were: Leah Hershberger, Nitin Arona, Yifei Hu, Austin Heckaman, Maddy Anderson, Alex Cao, Marija Lapkus, Sheena Shah, Jenny Huang and Christy Chang.
Turning in perfect junior varsity efforts for PHS were Alec Jacobs, Nithin Varadharajan, Richard Jung and Josh Rajhuman.
Next up for the Kingsmen is the Penn Invitational starting at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29 in the Penn cafeteria.
