Pedestrian injured in crash on Napier Avenue

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after he was struck by a vehicle Monday morning on E. Napier Avenue, according to Benton Township Police.

Police were called to E. Napier Avenue near Columbus around 11 a.m. Monday.

The pedestrian, David Mark Snyder, was walking westbound in the eastbound lane on Napier Avenue when he was struck by an SUV traveling eastbound on Napier.

Snyder suffered injuries to his leg and head and was transported to Lakeland Hospital, then airlifted to Bronson Hospital Kalamazoo in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
