Passengers bused to and from SBN after train collides with deer Wednesday morning

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Around 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning, South Shore Line officials reported a collision between a train and a deer that caused enough damage to stop one train and delay a few more.

Due to the crash, weekday eastbound Train 35 was stopped around Quince Road in Lydick, Ind. After a brief delay, the passengers were bused to South Bend International Airport.

As a result, eastbound Train 401 and westbound Train 8 passenger were bused between the airport and Carroll Avenue.

Additionally, eastbound Train 405 and Westbound Train 22 will also be bused between the airport and Carroll Avenue.

"Bus service for Train 22 will not be picking up passengers at Hudson Lake," SSL officials said.
