Pagano excited to be back on the sidelines
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts are heading back to the playoffs with their rookie quarterback and now they are looking forward to welcoming back their head coach.
When Chuck Pagano accepted the head coach job he knew he was taking on the team with the NFL's worst record.
He did not know he would also face an aggressive battle with cancer.
But on Sunday, he will be back on the field after finishing treatment for leukemia.
"It's your will, just like our players, we talk about the will to win, the will to beat your man, you're just lining up against something else and with that will you can overcome anything," Pagano said.
He was so excited to get back to work this week, the team said he was the first one at Colts headquarters on Monday.
Pagano and the Colts will face Houston in the final game of the regular season.
