UPDATE: Less than 100 in southwest Michigan still without power as crews continue to work

UPDATE: MEC reports as of Friday morning, only 68 customers remain without power. Officials expect full power restoration Friday.

MEC officials say crews have replaced 126 out of 130 broken poles resulting from the EF-1 tornado and straight-line winds on March 30.

CASSOPOLIS, Mich. -- Midwest Energy & Communications (MEC) reported on Thursday afternoon that about 1,000 customers are still without power.

The largest outage is in Jefferson Township; however, there are scattered outages throughout southwest Michigan

"Crews are out in full force, but restoration efforts will continue tomorrow and possibly into Saturday," an MEC spokesperson said.
