Open house for re-opening of Michigan City Senior Center

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. - An open house is being held for the grand re-opening of the Michigan City Senior Center on Wednesday, April 24.

Michigan City Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch will ceremonially re-open the newly remodeled senior center in Washington Park.

The keynote speaker will be former Michigan City Mayor, Sheila Matias, who was mayor at the time the building was constructed in 1997 to 1998.

Special guests also include five generations of Pauline Herschman, who founded the first Michigan City Senior Citizens Organization in 1956.

Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will also be provided.

The open house is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The center is located at 2 on the Lake in Michigan City.
