MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- It started as friendly banter between two coaches at Penn High School. Brad Harper says, "Our past head swim coach, Jess Preston, we always try to get on reality TV shows. And he found this one, and he's like, Coach Harper; you got to get on it. And I was like, I don't even know what it was. What are squid games?"

Shortly after Harper got to rep number 277 and travel to London to compete in the new season of "Squid Game: The Challenge", Harper made it past the first round but did not make it to the end of the journey. He says, "Okay, so as a little bittersweet, I won't get into too many details, but I did lose on the five-legged relay release. So, there were five games. My game was the hacky sack, which I never got to play because somebody on my team couldn't hit the flying stone."

Harper says only around 225 Americans were selected for a spot in the show and he got the chance to meet people from all over the world. While his journey may have been cut short, it doesn't mean his days of competing on television have to be.

He says, "I mean, that's why I'm standing here, not winning $4.5 million that I expected to win. So I won another shot squid games put me back on."
