CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Saturday around 1:20 p.m. at Brownsville Road and Union Road in Calvin Township.

Authorities' investigation determined a vehicle, driven by 55-year-old Gary Schlenther of Niles, was traveling east on Brownsville Road.

The report states Schlenther then attempted to pass another vehicle, driven by 43-year-old Kelly Rodriguez, who was making a left turn from Brownsville Road.

A crash then occurred.

Rodriguez was taken to Ascension Borges Lee Hospital for injuries sustained in the traffic crash.
