One dead in crash involving Bangor police vehicle

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. - A motorcyclist is dead after a chase with Bangor police on M-43 Monday night, according to Michigan State Police.

The crash happened at 11:30 p.m. near 30th Avenue.

According to police, the motorcyclist was leading police on a chase at high speeds when he crashed into a pickup truck that was backing out of a driveway.

The police vehicle also hit the pickup.

The motorcyclist, a 24-year-old from Paw Paw, died at the scene.

The driver of the pickup was minorly injured.

The police officer involved was not injured.
