UPDATE: Monday evening, the Cass County Sheriff's Office says the initial investigation of the crash shows that 19-year-old Kennedi Webster, of Hamilton, Ohio, was the driver of a vehicle traveling south on Dailey Road who failed to stop at the stop sign at M-60.

"A 53-year-old [victim] of Niles was the driver of a vehicle traveling northeast on M-60 that was struck by Webster's vehicle.

Kennedi was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle and three passengers were transported by ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

Seat belt use is unknown at this time. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a contributing factor in this crash.

ORIGINAL: CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at approximately 10:20 a.m. this morning to a crash at the intersection of M-60 and Dailey Road in Jefferson Township.

The initial investigation shows that a vehicle was traveling south on Dailey, when it failed to stop at a stop sign, causing a vehicle traveling northeast on M-60 to crash into the vehicle.

The Driver of the first car was pronounced dead on the scene, while the driver of the second car and the three passengers were transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

No names have been released at this time.
