Olympic-style games for medically fragile children, United Rosie Games H.A.V.E.N., returns for fourth year

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A Rosie Place for Children and United Federal Credit Union announced their fourth annual United Rosie Games will be held on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in South Bend.

The Olympic-style games are exclusively for families with children who are medically fragile.

Taking place at A Rosie Place for Children, the day will begin with an entrance parade around the building to the Games Village in the backyard for the opening ceremony.

After every child has had an opportunity to participate in each game, organizers will gather everyone for a closing ceremony with a presentation of medals and prizes to the day's champions.

Organizers say each game is designed around the Rosie kids' unique abilities.

That means whether they are in a wheelchair, have limited mobility, or visual impairment, games are accessible for them.

Organizers say the games aim to create a platform where every child can experience the thrill of sports, celebrate their abilities, and build lasting friendships.

“United Federal Credit Union is proud to be back for the fourth year as sponsor of The United Rosie Games,” said Chris Swartz, United’s Ireland Road Branch Manager. “The Games have become one of Team United’s favorite events to volunteer and participate at. The credit union philosophy of 'people helping people' perfectly aligns with the mission of A Rosie Place for Children, and we can’t wait for another great United Rosie Games!”

This H.A.V.E.N event is exclusively for registered families of A Rosie Place for Children.

All attendees must RSVP. To RSVP your champion and family contact Ronda at (574) 235-8899 or [email protected].
