Officials compare similarities between two missing college student cases
LAFAYETTE, La. -- In Louisiana the search is intensifying for a missing college student.
Major headway has been made. Sunday the break came when Lafayette police found 22-year-old, Mickey Shunick's bike.
She was last seen riding it nine days ago leaving a friend's house. Detectives said surveillance video shows a woman believed to be Shunick riding her bike, then a white pickup truck is seen. Police are looking for that driver.
This case has some similarities to the disappearance of Indiana University student, Lauren Spierer nearly a year ago.
The 20-year-old disappeared early June 3 of last year after a night out with friends in downtown Bloomington.
Both women are blonde and petite and according to reports there was a white pickup truck shown in security videos, right after her disappearance.
The Bloomington Police chief said his department has contacted Louisiana authorities.
