SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Fighting Irish college football cornerback, Leonard Moore, hosted an event on Sunday to bring awareness to the nationwide problem of chronic absenteeism, while also celebrating local student achievement by awarding two middle schoolers from the South Bend Community School Corporation.
Major James Mueller, SBSC Superintendent Mansour Eid, leaders from Gentlemen and Scholars, and several middle schoolers came to speak on how the initiative has changed their approach to being a leader at their schools and how the process has made them focus on their futures.
Moore reflected on his childhood and how a local stay mentor would've made a huge impact on him and now he's in that position to giveback to the adolescent community.
