UPDATE: Notre Dame's Citron drafted number three in Monday's WNBA draft to Washington Mystics

UPDATE: Notre Dame Women's Basketball Guard Sonia Citron has been picked as the number three pick in the 2025 WNBA draft to the Washington Mystics.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A trio of former Fighting Irish Women's basketball players are expected to be drafted tonight in the 2025 WNBA draft, and two of them could end up on the same team.
The Washington Mystics have the third, fourth, and sixths picks in the draft and ESPN has projected the team will select Sonia Citron as their fourth overall pick.
"Citron averaged 14.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists as a senior, helping Notre Dame win a share of the ACC regular-season title and reach the Sweet 16," the ESPN mock draft reads. "She was a first-team All-ACC pick and was on the league's all-defensive team. Her defensive versatility helps her case to be a lottery pick."
ESPN also has the Washington Mystics taking Fighting Irish favorite Maddy Westbeld in the second round with the 23rd overall pick.
The WNBA draft has three total rounds with the first round having 12 picks, and the second and third having 13 each.
Graduate transfer Liatu King, who set a program record averaging 10.4 rebounds per game in the 2024-25 season, is projected to be taken in the third round with the 36th overall pick to the Atlanta Dream.
The draft begins at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
