SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Notre Dame Women's Basketball Team, securing a share of the ACC regular season title on Sunday, with a dominating win over Louisville 72-59.
The now ranked 6th Irish though coming off of back-to-back losses to co-champion NC State and Florida State, allowing more than 80 points in those loses, but Head Coach Niele Ivey's team turned things around on Sunday.
“I thought the entire game we played with a lot of heart defensively and did what we needed to do to finish that game," stated Head Coach Niele Ivey.
While an ACC Tournament Championship would put the Irish in great standing for the March Madness Bracket, Coach Ivey says they're taking it all one step at a time.
“The further you go in the conference tournament dictates a lot. But a lot can happen in the next week-and-a-half. So, my focus and goal and messaging for the team is to take care of business on Friday," continues Ivey.
The Irish have a double bye in the ACC Tournament, so they won't play until Friday.
ABC57's Dante Stanton will be live in Greensboro North Carolina starting this Wednesday to cover the tournament for us.
