SOUTH BEND, Ind -- The name Maya Dodson has been ringing bells here in Michiana since she transferred to Notre Dame from Stanford to finish out here collegiate career.
Dodson transferred to Notre Dame for the 2021–2022 season after deciding to sit out here senior year and now she’s sitting with anticipation to see where she will suit up next.
The star forward was a key addition to the team due to her inside presence on the court.
After becoming a top 10 all-time leader in blocks for Stanford, Dodson brought her experience to the Fighting Irish and helped the team in their march madness journey.
Throughout the season Dodson led the ACC conference with nearly 3 blocks per game and was named All-ACC defensive team and second team all acc.
The standout forward applied for a sixth year of eligibility but the NCAA declined her request because she sat out the 2020 season.
Four days ago announcing that she will the WNBA draft to further her career.
In this year’s draft Dodson is projected to be picked in the second round but we could potentially hear her name in the first round as well.
